Membership to NYSHFA | NYSCAL is open to all New York State nursing homes and assisted living communities, both proprietary and non-profit. Membership is also available on an associate member basis to companies that provide goods and services to long term care facilities in New York State.
Benefits of Membership:
- Education and professional development: We provide statewide educational seminars, webinars, grant-funded training sessions, and networking opportunities targeted to clinical and administrative staff members at all levels.
- Clinical, quality and operational support: The Association offers professional resources for clinical, quality, operational, regulatory, and survey issues. We also offer input and advice to the New York State Department of Health on policy and directives.
- Reimbursement and financial services: Our team monitors, interprets for, and advocates on the financial impact of all state and federal reimbursement matters including: Medicaid, managed long-term care, ALP rates, HCBS Rule, and other fiscal issues.
- Ongoing legislative support: Our seasoned, well-connected legislative staff works collaboratively with other associations and the NYS Department of Health to maintain a legislative platform that drives positive outcomes for the residents we serve.
- Full-time lobbyist on staff: The Association employs a full-time lobbyist/lawyer who represents our members at the state and national levels.
